These are a fairly new type of asset whose arrival was surely driven, at least to some degree, by the recognition on the part of some unscrupulous businessmen and financiers that savers’ need for income offered them a ready supply of money from relatively unsophisticated investors. They knew, I am sure, that the offer in large print of an interest rate of as much as 8pc when Bank Rate was 0.5pc would be enough to make some savers overcome any misgivings and hand over their money.
But as her plans misfire she becomes swept up in a cycle of psychosis and frenzied violence all being blamed on Billy by everyone else...including a homophobic detective, who's anti-gay prejudice is steadily reaching its zenith...leading to an unforeseeable outcome. But once he turns seventeen, he is soon set on planning his life...without her. He's planing on going on to college and is dating local girl Julie.(***1/2 out of *****) I'm surprised this one isn't talked about more (at least, on a schlocky, cult-classic level). Susan Tyrrell ("Flesh & Blood") plays Cheryl Roberts, a frighteningly unstable woman who has to raise her nephew, Billy (Jimmy Mc Nichol), when his parents are killed in a gruesome car accident in the opening scene.Aunt Cheryl's overaffectionate behavior towards her 17-year-old nephew sets the creepy tone for this movie from the first five minutes, but the main plot starts after she stabs a plumber to death for refusing her sexual advances. Also, the front of the video box seems to be referring to a different movie ... Otherwise, hunt this one down and watch it with someone you love.
HIGHLIGHT: Everything that happens after Tyrrell cuts her hair short is a highlight, because that's when she goes completely off the deep end and earns her place in B-movie cinema's Hall of Over-The-Top Performances.

Savers who were not so deprived of alternative sources of income would probably have smelt a rat.
After these failures, my feeling is that the entire mini-bond sector is best avoided unless the issuer is long established and reputable, as a few have been, or unless you are equipped and willing to carry out exhaustive research into the detail of the offer.
However, his relationship with his aunt isn't how she would like it; as the aunt has designs of a sexual nature on the boy, and does her best to ruin all of his plans; including his relationship with his girlfriend, and his hopes of winning a scholarship. The film features performances from a few well known actors, including Bo Svenson as a bigoted sheriff and Susan Tyrrell as the maniacal aunt.
